🔧 Overview

How SX-LINK Works

SX-LINK creates a secure, encrypted tunnel between the vehicle and our cloud servers. Our engineers connect to the same tunnel, giving them direct access to the vehicle's diagnostic network without ever leaving our office.

🔌

1. Connect to Vehicle

Plug SX-LINK into the OBD-II port. The device auto-detects the vehicle architecture (EVA1/EVA2) and establishes a secure local connection.

2. Cloud Link

SX-LINK connects to our encrypted cloud gateway over WiFi or 4G. No firewall configuration needed — outbound HTTPS tunnel.

👤

3. Engineer Access

Our JLR engineer connects to the same session and performs diagnostics, programming, or guidance in real time.

💻 Capabilities

Remote Diagnostic Capabilities

📡

Full Diagnostics

Read and clear DTCs, view live data, run actuator tests, and perform service functions remotely. All UDS services available over the cloud link.

Module Programming

Flash programming and calibration updates performed remotely. Our engineers handle the entire process while you monitor from the workshop.

🔑

Key Learning

Remote key programming sessions for customers who cannot visit. Our engineer guides the local technician through each step over video call.

📝

CCF Editing

Vehicle configuration changes made remotely. Ideal for fleet managers and mobile technicians who need configuration support in the field.

☁ Cloud

Cloud Connection & Real-Time Support

Enterprise-grade security with end-to-end encryption. No data stored on our servers — the tunnel is ephemeral and session-only.

🔒

End-to-End Encryption

AES-256-GCM encryption between SX-LINK, the cloud gateway, and our engineer stations. No vehicle data is ever stored or logged.

🚀

Low Latency

Global edge network ensures sub-100ms latency for most regions. Programming sessions feel local even when the engineer is on another continent.

💬

Video Integration

Built-in video call integration allows our engineer to see the vehicle, dashboard, and your technician's actions while controlling the diagnostic session.

🔧 Setup

Setup Guide

Get SX-LINK running in under five minutes. No complex network configuration required.

1

Plug Into OBD-II

Connect SX-LINK to the vehicle's OBD-II port. The LED will flash green while it detects the vehicle architecture.

❓ FAQ

Common Questions

Do I need to open firewall ports for SX-LINK?
No. SX-LINK uses an outbound HTTPS tunnel, which works through virtually all firewalls and NAT routers. No port forwarding, static IP, or IT configuration is required at your end.
Is remote programming safe for the vehicle?
Yes. The connection is identical to a local connection — the only difference is the cable length. Our engineers follow the same safety protocols and can pause or abort a session instantly if needed. Battery voltage is monitored continuously.
Can I use SX-LINK for my own remote diagnostics?
SX-LINK is designed to connect to the JLR FIX cloud for engineer support. For direct PC-to-vehicle remote access, you would need additional VPN infrastructure. Contact us for enterprise remote-access solutions.
What happens if the internet drops during a session?
SX-LINK has a session persistence buffer. If the connection drops, the session pauses and resumes automatically when connectivity is restored. For critical programming operations, our engineers verify completion before disconnecting.
